Product Magic Quadrants

Product Magic Quadrants are a way to display a set of related products together in the format of a magic quadrant measured against any two metrics. Magic quadrants typically identify the market leaders by placing them in the top-right quadrant and market laggards in the bottom-left quadrant.

The product magic quadrants currently use the average rating on the x-axis and the sales rank on the y-axis, both obtained from Amazon using the Amazon Associate Web Services (A2S). Since lower sales rank is better, the y-axis is used such that the lower sales ranks shows on the top and higher sales ranks on the bottom. The traditional magic quadrants usually represent only two dimensions. However, it is possible to represent as much as 4 or even 5 dimensions on a magic quadrant! The product magic quadrants represent a third dimension, the price by varying the size of the marker that represents each product. Further, products that are potentially offered as deals are displayed in green color, which represents the 4th dimension.
